What you should have heard about:

Funding

The „Hochschuljubiläumsfonds der Stadt Wien“ funds smaller research projects at Viennese Universities. Projects in the fields of humanities, law, social sciences, political sciences, economics and theology are funded with max. EUR 20,000. Submission deadline: Mar 31, 2025.

The ÖAW PostDoc Track funds fellowships for 3 -12 months, in the humanities and social and cultural sciences in order to assist in the transition to the post-doc phase. The doctoral/PhD studies must have been completed no longer than six months before the submission deadline. Next submission deadlines: May 15 & Nov 17, 2025.

The 2nd call in the FFG Programme “Energieforschung”  funds projects in various areas in order to develop a broad spectrum of solutions for the green transformation: Energy innovations (incl. social transformations) from Austria that make a contribution to climate protection. Submission Deadline: Mar 5, 2025, 12 noon.

Circle U.  Sandpits 2025 - May 27 & Sept 9-11, 2025

Develop research projects and scientific thinking through collaboration with peers from other disciplines. The Sandpits 2025 focus on inter- and transdisciplinary projects with democracy as the central theme. The program includes an online session in May and an in-person session in Louvain-la-Neuve in September.

New Postdoc Mobility Scheme

The European University Alliance Circle U. recently launched its first mobility schemes for young academics. The postdoctoral mobility fellowships are aimed at researchers who wish to continue their scientific or academic career at another Circle U. university. The fellowships enable researchers to meet their potential next research group through a research stay.
