The Gerda Henkel Stiftung funds research scholarships for postdoctoral researchers in the fields of Archaeology, History, Historical Islamic Studies, Art History, History of Law, Prehistory and Early History, History of Science for 1 to max. 24 months. Applications are possible if applicants received their PhD within the last 10 years. Application Deadline: May 28, 2026.
The research funding programme “International Communication” of the Austrian Research Association provides funding for research travel abroad and the invitation of researchers to Austria. Funding is primarily intended for young scholars with high-quality prior achievements. Submission deadlines 2026: May 29, Oct 1 and Nov 5.
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA-PF) is a postdoctoral research and training programme in which the postdoc (fellow) gains additional skills and abilities by working on a specific research project in a new environment while also transferring their knowledge within their new institution. Open to all research fields, the fellowship is a well-defined, 2-year career stage. In addition to running an Expression of Interest programme to attract qualified candidates, the University also provides extensive support to applicants.
