What you should have heard about:

FUNDING

The ÖAW PostDoc Track awards fellowships for 3-12 months to assist researchers in transitioning to the postdoc phase who have completed their doctoral/PhD studies in the humanities and cultural and social sciences in Austria no more than 6 months before the submission deadline. The aim is to support the completion of publications resulting from a dissertation and/or the development of a candidate’s own research project for applying to national or international funding bodies. Next submission deadlines: May 15, 2026 and Nov 16, 2026.

The FWF-ASTRA awards support successful, internationally visible researchers from all disciplines with a minimum of 500,000 to a maximum of 1 million Euros. In addition, funding for women can be topped up with a tenure package of 200,000 Euros. The duration of the projects is 5 years. Applicants must have completed their doctorate at least 2 and no more than 9 years ago.

Research-in-Residence Fellowships: PICAIS

Application Deadline: May 15, 2026

The Passau International Centre for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies (PICAIS) invites applications for a visiting position at the University of Passau. It will fund full-time fellowships for short-term research stays of at least two months (preferably longer) and up to six months in duration.
