FUNDING
The Gerda Henkel Stiftung is launching a funding programme that seeks to enquire into the realms of the possible and the horizon of the not-yet-known. Prospect Utopia funds total of 50 projects with a project sum of up to EUR 50,000 in each instance. Submission Deadline: Apr 15, 2026.
The Hochschuljubiläumsfond of the City of Vienna funds smaller, independent scientific projects, particularly for young scientists. In 2026, only projects in the fields of engineering and natural sciences will be funded. The funding is max. EUR 20,000 per project; the average amount of funding paid out is approximately EUR 8,000. Submission Deadline: Mar 31, 2026.
The Wissenschaft Zukunft Preis (WZP) of the Society for Research Promotion Lower Austria aims to highlight high-quality scientific achievements of academics who are at the beginning of their scientific careers, with prizes of EUR 3,000 for dissertations or PhD theses. The academic thesis must be assessed as “very good” and have a connection to Lower Austria. Submission deadline: Apr 8, 2026.
The Peter und Traudl Engelhorn Stiftung funds young scientists in the life sciences with postdoctoral fellowships for two years. Submission deadline: Jul 15, 2026.
Information webinar on EU Health Funding Opportunities: This webinar aims to provide an overview of the most relevant calls in Horizon Europe (Cluster 1) for 2026-2027, as well as in other clusters and EU programmes (i.e., EU4Health, Digital Europe, and the Innovative Health Initiative). In addition to the priorities and call calendars, we will hear a testimony from a PI who participated in these calls. The event will take place on Tuesday, Jan 20, 2026, from 14:30 to 16:00.
